Professor Elizabeth Funmilayo ARANSIOLA

Professor of Chemical Engineering

Engineer Elizabeth Funmilayo Aransiola is a Professor of Chemical Engineering. She holds a B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. (Chemical Engineering) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town, South Africa from 2011-2013. Her research foci are in the areas of Biochemical and Reaction Engineering with emphasis on renewable energy systems. She has been able to utilize biomass for energy generation to solve two key societal problems of environmental cleanliness and provision of affordable energy. She coordinates the postgraduate programmes in the Department of Chemical Engineering as well as being a member of the Postgraduate Committee in her Faculty. She contributed to the development of Energy Systems Science and Engineering programmes spanning Postgraduate Diploma to Doctoral degree. The two TEA-LP courses that Obafemi Awolowo University is involved in the Partnership are embedded in these programmes at Taught and Research Master’s degree levels.
