Philosophy and Objective of the Programme

Global energy demand is rapidly increasing, while resources and human capacity to meet this demand are depleting. Energy is crucial for economic development, especially in Nigeria, West Africa, and Africa at large. The MSc in Energy Systems Science and Engineering aims to address this expertise gap by providing specializations in Alternative Energy, Energy Informatics, and Power Systems & Electricity Economics. An energy system encompasses all components related to the production, conversion, delivery, and use of energy, constantly evolving due to new regulations, technologies, and practices. The programme's courses are designed to be market-driven, focusing on the fundamentals, theories, and applications of various energy types. Our vision is to develop future experts who will contribute to affordable and clean energy for economic development.
